Artificial Intelligence (AI) has had a meteoric rise over the past decade and experts predict that the AI market will be worth over $1.5 trillion by the early 2030’s.

In a recent article PwC estimate that 30% of all jobs are at risk from automation by 2030. We’re just a lowly website that produces pub quizzes, what do we have to be worried about?

Well we decided to find out. We put the very latest and most groundbreaking AI Chat Bot to the test to find out if The Artificial Intelligence Quizmaster is a thing of the future.

GPT Chat is a chatbot which was launched by OpenAI in November 2022. It’s built on top of OpenAI’s GPT-3 family of large language models and is fine-tuned with both supervised and reinforcement learning techniques. GPT actually stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer and in the most basic of terms all we need to know is that this system uses deep learning to produce human-like text. But how does it do when we we want it to be creative? Here are the results…

We asked the chatbot to create us a 10 question General Knowledge quiz and here is what we got:

Ok, so the questions that it produced aren’t exactly the most difficult general knowledge questions in the world. But what we do notice is the diversity of the subject matter is actually pretty good.

We don’t sit down and write out a quiz in one sitting and if we did it certainly wouldn’t take us a matter of milliseconds to generate it like GPT Chat’s first attempt. So in the interest of giving it a fair chance, we asked it a further 4 times to come up with 10 general knowledge questions and here are all the results (note: there are some repetitions but we’ve left those in).
